Hey, what the heck???

I posted a link to a place that DOES offer a chain drive conversion, and it was edited out by a moderator. WTF? And my whole post was edited! This is not right. I was expressing an experience with one of the above vendors (it wasn't a clothing part).

I'm not advertising!!! I have no affiliation!!

Anyway, google Precision Metal Fab Racing, they call it a Bagger Chain Drive Conversion Kit. They convert your stock IDS to a sprocket. Here's a pic. I bet this will be edited in short order too...

The last chain I had was the last chain I'll ever have. I do not miss a chain one bit. Your bags will get oil on them, your wheels will get oil on them. You will get oil on your clothes. Your passenger will get oil on their clothes. Chain guards help, but then they get oil on them. You have to adjust it on a regular basis. You have to replace it on a fairly regular basis. Never again. If you want one, more power to you, but it wouldn't be for me. Trading a fat tire for a chain is no bargain to me.

I get some oil on the inner parts of my bike, but none on myself or passenger during the ride. I adjust the chain and oil lightly (the first time) at 5000 miles and replace it all at 10,000-12,000. It's not as long lasting as a belt, but I can change it all out in about two hours. the belt takes more time for me to replace because the swing arm must come off.
but also I like to wrench on it, and blast off the line with no worries of losing a belt. man I love it!

I haven't owned a bike with exposed chain drive since 1977. Just saying!
