Welcome & congrats on hthe new RG!

Regarding handlebars on the RG's... I have used WideGlide bars on two RoadGlides & love them. They also fit w/o need to change any cables or wiring. The only thing I had to change was the clutch cable routing (as mentioned above). I simply moved the cable to where it is routed between the inner edge of the left side of the fairing and the left side of the speedo/tach cluster. I also use a cable clamp from a RoadKing and mount it to the side of the fork - just like on a RoadKing.

Again.... CONGRATS!!!

Thanks for the replies. I'd been readin the forums for a week or two now, great community here.

I can give you guys the before and after Pics.

I have the Sporty shown...with a nice dent in the tank (trailering mishap.) You may also notice the Hard bags, and the quad set of speakers. I'd pretty much turned the thing into a mini tourer. The goon on the left is my younger bro.

Next is the Glide. The tourpack and fairing lowers are incoming from the factory, the pipes, backrest, and seat are on and has already been lowered as well. The highway pegs will get tossed on when I get the tour pack. Crappy pic of the glide, really doesn't do it justice, but I was too busy riding it to take proper pics. I'm sure I'll go nuts takin photos at Americade. [&:]

Congratulations. The love just keeps growing.

As to the minor pops, my bike has done that for 25,000 miles and I haven't seen any damage because of it. If it starts sounding like a shotgun, you probably should worry. I'm in Calif., with the infernal catalyst on the right muffler. I don't know the technical cause, but I'm speculating that the pops are caused by small amounts of unburned fuel that ignite when they hit the hot catalyst. I notice it happens when I don't close the throttle down all the way and let just a wee bit of fuel get in there between shifts or going down a hill.
