The Battery Tender is nice because it is not a constant charge. It has a computer chip inside that only charges when it needs to and monitors the battery the rest of the time. Here is the link for Battery Tender with a picture. http://batterytender.com/popup_image.php?pID=4
When you look at the picture, look at the cord that is behind the wall plug. That is what plugs directly into the cord on your bike and looks just like what is hanging on the bike. Hope that is clear as mud.
Learn something new about this bike nearly every day. Wasn't aware I had a tender connection on my 08 Ultra! Thanks for the headsup, I'll look for it!

I've been looking at the Deltran Battery Tender Plus, and the Jr models. I think I'm going to go for the Jr model. $24.04 with free shipping with the wife's Amazon Prime account.

I keep mine under the seat, and strech it up to between the tank & seat when I plug my heated jacket liner into it!!

the dealer threw in a battery tender with the deal. It plugs into the pigtail where you`d plug in your heated vest.

It works great, everytime I look at it the light is solid green which means the battery is fully charged.

I've got the Deltran Jr. I like the Jr. better cause the plug is the charger. Just a plug and a cord.......much easier to fool with. I connected the leads directly to the battery and ran it down toward the oil dipstick.....just followed the existing wiring harness and zip tied it on. It tucks in behind the frame when not in use.

Has anyone tried using the cigarette lighter for charging instead of adding the pigtail to the battery? I just found this on the battery tender website

http://batterytender.com/product_inf...20411d364dcd7f

My garage outlet just happens to be on the LH side of the bike, this would work nice.

Default Cars and bike--just use the battery connection

I have a 68 stang, an 05 stang and the harley. I have tenders on all 3 and have for years and they are all connected to the pos/neg cables. Never had any problems and they always start first time.

I don't think "all '08s" have the pigtail. My '08 didn't have one UNTIL I put it on. And I did connect it directly to the battery terminals.

The Harley battery tender is the same a a Deltran battery tender. Bear in mind that "Battery Tender" is a brand name, so other battery chargers aren't necessarily the same. Maybe they're good, maybe not.
