Hello,
I have a new 2009 Ultra on order and have begun compiling my list of needed additions.
I am contemplating the following upgrade from the start:
103 Cubic Inch
Factory Download
Kuryakyn Crusher Mufflers
I am want a bit more power and noise than a stock bike.
Anyone done an upgrade like this?
Do you like the 103 upgrade?
Do you like the Kuryakyn pipes?
I want to do something that won't void my warranty. Once the warranty is off then I will get more radical with the engine.
Put the crushers on my o8 Ultra along with the Kury headers and their High 5 breather system. Originally had the Fuelpak but replaced it with a Power Commander 5 from Fuel Moto.
With the bike as currently configured, I am very pleased with performance and sound. The crushers fit and finish is outstanding (I am running with the Trident tips...pretty beefy piece of chrome!). I have received many positive comments about their appearance (I think because not many folks have had a chance to see them so far) and the sound. They have a deep classic sound and they will bark if you get aggressive with the throttle. I have no problems still hearing the stereo when cruising down the highway.
As far a customer service goes, Kuryakyn has been more than responsive to any inquiries. Not only did they address any/all concerns, they actually have me set up with the designer of the pipes at Daytona for his opinion. Nothing wrong, just offered his services to answer my questions and to look at the bike.
After running the pipes/mufflers for about 4000-5000 miles since installed at Octoberfest, I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quality system, great sound, and a different look than what everyone else is running.
I have the on my 09 Ultra, with a BAK intake. I love it. People come up to me and ask what type of pipes they are and the performance is nice. I am going to add the header pipes right after I replace my rims.
The Crushers sound killer. Nice deep idle, and they bark when you get on it. Stainless steel packing that doesn't wear out. I wish they were offered in black, I'd probably get a set with a Fuel Moto head pipe.
