Got one on my bike. Works very good. One issue though. The occasional drop of oil that doesn't get sucked into the intake and reburnt (epa/tree-hugger thing) flies back onto your leg or saddlebag!
Found a post about how to slow that down in this forum:
Cut a piece of panty-liner and stick it inside the filter cover below the filter - works great. Just don't tell the fellas 8-)
Excellent choice.....moves more CFM than the bike will probably ever use. I installed the one with the chrome backing, just make sure all the o-rings are in place and use a coating of high temp lithium grease to hold them in place as this will also help to seal them so you don't have a problem with the oil leak as mentioned above. If you go with a better breathing A/C, and to get the best result, be sure to add more efficient slip ons and do the Stage 1 download or other remapping device (such as the PC III or PCV). I went with the AN Big sucker, Python slip ons, and the MOCO Stage 1 download and noticed a major difference. As an aside, I had added the Big Sucker and the download...the Stealership warned me that I needed to put the slip ons on before I traveled to far as the extra fuel going into the engine would wash the cylinders and cause major problems. I do have to admit that before I put the slip ons on, the bike ran like sh*t; but once I put the slip ons in place, the bike smoothed out and ran like a ....well you get the idea.
I've got one on my 05 Standard, put Rhinehart true duals on and an SE 203 cam. It scoots along pretty well. The price on those big suckers isn,t bad compared to the other breathers out there. It might be the only reasonably priced thin Arlen Ness ever put his name on.
well, mine came with the wrong bolts. supposed to have studded ends. mine was threaded for a bolt. when the filter is tightened to chrome backing plate, squashed the filter. made some studs and used loctite to secure them in until new parts are shipped. hope it's not a common problem with this product. installed PC-V and Vance-Hines slip-ons. what an improvement. dyno coming at thunder beach.
