You must have seen the post asking about mileage on an '09.. the post about tire mileage was just posted yesterday by the same guy, and has had 9 replies as of this morning...
When you are searching try to use specific terms and wrap those terms in quotation marks.
Example: If you are searching for front fender install, enter it in the search window as "front fender install". If you don't get what you are looking for try to word it different. Remember when searching like this it looks for the words in quotations just like they appear. And remember just because it doesn't appear in the title doesn't mean it isn't in the actual thread.

Great points, you should always wrap your search terms in quotes if you want to find all the words in a particular post. I haven't noticed an issue searching on this forum, but admittedly I haven't used it very often recently, maybe something has changed?
there has been a question about tire mileage on 09's at the top of the touring forum for days and it only has 3 replies has any one else noticed this. and search is way off target if you don't type in the exact words you will never find a specific post, it has not been right since about a year ago when it changed. just my 2 cents
I check the "show post" instead of "show threads" and have better luck with that.
Ya, there's something seriously wrong with the "search".... But the rest of the Forum has been running really good for me. Especially compared to 6-8 months ago! It really sucked then... In fact we lost alot of good folks during that mess...
