just traded an 05 roadking classic for this 09 street glide in some ways i do think the glide is better .but the classic was just that. class .i loved that bike had it set up the way i wanted got lots of compliments rode really good for a bike that had been lowered.had about 25000 mi.on the clock when i traded .but i still keep telling myself i'll just make this one mine too.i do like the new wider tire ,frame .exhaust etc. i think the radio and cd player is what sold it for me .like to jam while riding

Love my 09 SG, handles better than I could have imagined, I could do circles around my 01 softail that I sold for it. Very easy to maneuver and handle, smooth, great looking bike! Buffeting was real frustrating for first 300 miles, then I got a recurved type shield and it handles better on highway at speeds and no buffeting at all, you will love the bike!

RK & SG to me are totally two different bikes. I had a 07 RK and really loved that bike but it was missing something. I wanted the radio, I looked into a fairing but that could have been a costly option. My girl really liked the RK and was very upset that I traded it and wanted me to get another RK. I'm not regretting the trade and I know I will be very happy once I get to ride this summer. The test drive was a real tease.

Can't go wrong with the 09' SG! They're just a great bike. Getting used the batwing may be a change, and as others have said, the wind buffeting can be annoying, but usually a shield, and couple minor changes, and it no problem from that point on. Love mine!

Funny that the last message I read is from someone with a Pewter Pearl SG. This may sound dumb but here goes....I've always had Black bikes and the one that I'm dealing on is Pewter P. We just had a major price increase in Canada (15%) since Jan.1/09 and this particular bike was invoiced before the increase so hence a better price is negotiable. Any problems with glare off the tank with the Pewter P? Thanks for your comments. Really appreciated.

Went from a RK to a SG last year.

Undoubtedly, IMO, no bike ever made has the "innate character" of the Road King. It's truly not just a name - It's a description.

That said - When the road is long and the wind is whipping sideways, or when the rain turns to sleet, or when the straight roads suddenly get twisy without warning, I've never felt more "part of the bike" as I have on the Street Glide.

If I could have another bike, no doubt, it'd be a King. But I had to choose - And I have no regrets about choosing the SG.

I'm thinking of adding a batwing to my Road King Custom, which will essentially turn it into a SG. I'm cheap that way. I have poured way too much money into the bike to sell it and start over.
