From your photo, it appears to me that if you had your back against the backrest, that your hands would not reach the bars. True? So that defeats the purpose unless you just like "that look" correct?

You are correct!! I love the look...always ride solo...and I feel the bike is better balanced for me (with the tourpack in the solo position), especially when I'm loaded down for a long trip. I've thought about taking the backrest pad off...but just haven't done it. My seat gives me plenty of back support.
Most of the time I don't ride with the tourpack on.
Ok, it's time to get the general opinion on the looks of the new tour pac. I don't ever ride two up so I went with the back rest option and it really works well. What does it do for the look of the bike? I have only seen one other bike with this configuration, so it must not be that popular as most people like to carry a passenger at times. Your thoughts?
Awesome look! I've got the 4-pointing docking, now I need the solo seat and what else to make this work? I'm 6'2"...do you think I would reach the backrest?

You just need this and a solo seat too.

Detachable Solo Tour-PakŽ Rack # 53260-09
The Solo Tour-PakŽ Rack moves a Chopped or King Tour-PakŽ forward to a comfortable back supporting position. The rack is designed to position the Tour-PakŽ for solo riding and is adjustable over a 3/4" range.
Post the seat here on the forum and someone will buy it. Better yet, make it for sale in your signature line so all can see it on every one of your posts. It will sell. I love the stock FLTR Seat and have no inclination to change it out right now. It's quite comfy for me!
Thanks for all of the comments and replies. Had 80 degree weather yesterday and bike night down town last night so I am just now reading the posts. It was the first time to ride this year and I used every minute that I could.
