Don't get too excited. I used the recommended H-D grease and on long runs in the summer, it still thinned out and got all over the front of the bike. This went on for weeks. Finally, I jammed a piece of rag in the tray below the steering head to soak up the grease and that did the trick for me.
gotta agree with that, the H-D greese cooks out in the Florida sun as well. I have wondered if a hi-temp wheel bearing grease would do the trick without oozing out down the fork legs.
Hey, you guys have it made and don't know it. On my Sportster you had to tear down the front end, remove the triple tree and clamp, hand pack the bearings and re assemble the whole thing and preload the bearings. I thought I died and went to heaven when I saw the zerk fitting in the neck
