Lightbulb Reflectors

I always pull mine off, I noticed most bikes don't have the stock reflectors.

I was thinking that they are a good idea and maybe going to add some of that black/dark grey stuff to a couple hidden area, frame,,,,,

I guess the bicycle shop huh? Any good idea's?

Get some reflective tape (check an industrial supply store) and make pinstripes, flames, sculls whatever with it. If you don't like it pull it off.

Maybe I'm a dork , but I always leave the factory reflectors on my bikes.
My neighbor works at a sign shop and gave me a few pieces of super reflective DOT type tape which looks a bit like this.
http://www.colebrothers.com/dotsafetytape2/
I put a small amount around the license plate on my last bike and at night , when shown on by headlights , it's brighter than the tail lights by a fair margin.
I've seen some in black that shows white when hit by light , that would be neat on various frame locations.
I even have a bit on my helmet , looks stupid , but I've been hit twice on a bike , call me paranoid.....
If you find some neat stuff , post it , some of us care more about being seen than being stylish.

I'm glad I like my bike the way it is, with just a few mods like skull AC insert highway pegs and speaker chrome. Other than that I'm satisfied.

Yep, peeled those crappy reflectors off of the crash bars and downtubes shortly after I got the scoot.

I like the reflective tape ideas though. When I was in the USMC in the 80's, I had access to rolls of various colored reflective tape used on flight helmets. I used an Exacto knife to make lots of cool pinstripes and logos on my bike back then ('86 GSXR 750) and helmet.

If you ever had a cage driver pull out in front of you, even after directly looking in your direction, then you would know you can't have enough visual help. The headlight being on all the time is to make you more visible and the side reflectors are for the same reason. I leave mine on. Of course more chrome on the scoot might help with visibility also.

CaptJon,

Once in a while I check our web logs to see where our users surf in from. And once in a while I also follow some of those links to see what is being talked about - helps me know what I need to do here.

And finally.. once in a while I play santa clause and this is one of those times!

THe item you referred to is our black magic tape and actually it was made specifically for Harley guys (although everybody buys it) the Harley guys have been the hardest sale for us because they are all 'purist' wanting nothing on their bikes except the wind and maybe a rider...

So, talking you guys into buying anything to make night riding safer has been --- to say the least --- a challenge for me. The black magic reflective frame tape was right on because a lot of Harley guys buy this.

If you will take photos for me and post it here where I can come back one day and admire your bike, I'm going to send you what you need/want. Just let me know.

I may not check back here for a while So if I don't reply here come over to our website and click one of the E-mail us links and get ahold of me. I'll cover the shipping to you.

If the administrators here would like Im happy to set up a forum member discount code exclusively for this forum. Not knowing the platform here they might or might not be interested but it's available if asked for.

Safe Riding!
