That is sweet. My favorite colors are red and blues and that's a nice blue. Now I can't wait till my inner comes.

1) Colour is the 2007 Deep Cobalt. It looks a bit metallic.

2) Yes - it is Cannon Mountain in NH, on my way through the Notch. We Canucks have to take lessons from you Yanks on where to put our interstates - yours are through incredible scenery, and ours are flat, ugly and crammed.

3) I did all the work myself, save for the painting. It's not hard, just time-consuming. There are excellent posts here from others who have gone before to assist you. I found that there were two big pains:

1) The infamous "re-install the ignition". However, the screwdriver/flashlight trick will reduce your time from 2 frustrating hours to about 10 minutes. God bless everyone who gave me that idea.

2) The damned light bar re-install. It's tricky to get the outer fairing back on with the light bar attached, but the light bar has to be plugged in under the fairing, before the outer goes back on. I'm too clumsy to try to sneak the outer in & do up the headlight without scratching everything. I ended up connecting the light bar wires, and resting it on a pillow on my fender. Then I re-installed the outer, and finally, the light bar.

Also, re-installing the inner was easier for me since I had no mirrors or controls on at the time to get in the way. The manual says to tilt the fairing brackets back (that hold the stereo), and slide the inner into place. I got pissed off trying this ballet, and picked up the whole damed stereo assembly and everything, and pulled it out of the way (almost off to the point where it was above the front fender - as far as the wires would let me). I set the inner in place, and then rotated the stereo & brackets up to it. Rather than vice-versa.

For some reason it seemed way easier putting it back together. I took a ton of digital pics and video, and masking tape/labelled my electrical connectors. I'll advise the same thing to everyone - while you're under there, shell out the $$$ to do the Hogtunes swap-out.

I wish I could have afforded the Dakota gauges, but Stripperella would have killed me for that.

I guess your brackets were ok? I'm in the process of doing mine and found the right side bracket was broken. Going to the dealer tomorrow to fight. The ******** says I have to put the bike back together with broken bracket and take bike to him. He says I might be replacing a buddys bracket under my warranty. Then he says I shouldn't be inside the fairing cause it'll void my warranty.

The inner looks awesome! I just did mine this winter and WOW what a difference... I love the blue you got that really looks sharp! Mine was painted Crimson Red Sunglow and I really like the finished product!!

Not to mention Kudos for doing it yourself, that had to save you hundreds if not more!!!

Great Job!
