Fish on!
I have been looking to buy a touring bike since 06. I liked the changes in 07 but was scared off. I rented 08's to help me me make a final decision. I never have purchased much at msrp and never over, so I was kinda out of luck. Really liked the changes in 09, so read everything on here about pricing and buying. Started the process this last fall, always rejected. Yesterday, I stopped by a shop to shoot the breeze with a salesman I have become acquainted with and walked out with a brand spanking new Harley. I think I was helped by the economy. I'll pick it up in about a week. It's mirage orange pearl but I understand I'm not supposed to talk about the model <BSEG>. Thanks to all for sharing information and I look forward to a new chapter in my life....
great job. I'm going to dealer today to discuss further about a new bike for my wife. still not happy with the deal he's given me but have another dealer that's willing to. this one's just closer and I did talk with him first so I would like for him to "earn" my business.....but money is money....and yes this is the way to help the economy!
Rejected before? For financing? Congrats on the new ride, but I hope you didn't sign for something like 15-25%. I have excellent credit and the fincance jackazz tried to get me to sign for over 12%. I got up and started leaving, then he stopped me and asked me what % I wanted to pay. It took a minute, but I got him under 7%.
I had the cash, so I was looking to cut a deal. I offered on the same bike at the end of December and they let me walk. Went in yesterday offered the same and was excepted. They went down to $2,000 off msrp. No free t-shirt. What I learned is that the dealers are struggling with the fact they might have to see bikes at a reduced profit, until the economy recovers and they hate it. Don't give up or get mad. They are just doing there job. Still very stressful. I have never purchased a bike as expensive as a car.
No free t-shirt?
Thoise $30 shirts that cost HD $1.50 to make, and they wouldn't throw it in? I would've walked!
Anyways, congrats on the new scoot. Make sure to get some pics up here of it, we love those new bike pics
