That crap is nothing to sweat... the next negative comment if it were me would be a reply like... "well yes, and I'm sure I'll never see you on one" and walk away...
Fok em let them eat cake!! A harley is above all that the satisfaction of the ride is all it takes to get out the frustration.. Forgive them they know not what they do.......
Opinions are like... well... you know what they're like.
Sounds to me like bike-envy. I'd just smile and not let 'em see me sweat (so to speak). They're just trying to get a rise out of you, so don't give 'em the pleasure!
Alot of it is jealousy. I know back when I had the VTX, I gave all my buddies that had Harleys grief about getting to the same place as they did for less than half the price............. of course then I would tell them as soon as I can I WILL have one too......... a couple of years later and I am one of the people catching the grief from the jap bike owners....... I just smile because I know it has come full circle for me LOL I know as soon as a friend let me ride his Ultra, I was hooked on getting a touring and that was all there was to it. Just my two cents.........
+1, I think deep down most of them wish they had a Harley but they wouldn't dare admit it!
Don't worry.......Be happy......Be confident. Anyone that would begrudge you the passion and happiness that you work hard for is not your friend and is not worth concerning yourself with. Jealousy is the neon sign of weak and shallow people.

Awesome reply. I'll have to remember that tomorrow at work when the wannabe's attack.
Who knows.....who cares? It's THEIR ISSUE, not yours. Just laugh them off and go play elsewhere. I recently cut a few people out of my life who I no longer consider "friends". I'm much happier without them and all the drama. Afterall, I bought the bike to RIDE.....not get caught up in people's petty little attitudes. I'm sure you'll be much happier with a different group of people.
I usually get the opposite...I'll come out of the (store, bank, restaurant, wherever) and there will be someone or two admiring my 'Glide. I'll be riding along or sitting at a stop light and people will hang out their cage windows and holler "That's a really cool bike, man!"
I'm always surprised how often these things happen. Almost every time I ride.
Every once in while I do get someone with an attitude. If I respond at all, I usually say very politely, "Hey, give me your phone number and if I ever start to give a sh*t what you think, I'll let you know."
Don't let it bother you. You're a Harley rider. Non-special people need not apply.
