PCV and EITMS not compatible?
I have had my stock 09 FLHTP stall coming out of EITMS. It's like Jamie said if you release the clutch without applying a little throttle you get a drop in rpm that can stall. Waking up the rear cylinder with a bip on the throttle prevents this. With this knowledge I will still be getting a PCV as funds permit.
Jamie what about having to re-set the heat management after shutting the bike off. After 09SG posted this last night I checked today and I do have this issue. Is your bike doing this also and how can it be corrected?
Been doing what 09SG stated above, either bliping the throttle or giving gas to wake up the rear cylinder while letting out the clutch. It has worked, but there have been a couple of times the bike just rebelled and stalled out also. I am in Southern La., so I do not want to shut EITMS off, might be an engine saver down here, at least in the long run. Hopefully between Jamie and Dynojet there will be a fix for this as well.
Hello, as the 08-09 bikes use very similar heat management strategy I would expect it to apply to the 08 bike as well.

Our bike does not re-set the EITMS, I will look into this which may be in the sequence the bike is shut down or started.
I have a new 2009 ultra and have noticed it go into back cylinder cut off mode a few times. I feel it idle rougher when its off, it smells different when wind blows exhaust back toward me. the thing I really dont like at it has done this quite a few times on me is that then I start to go the bike sputters, chugs ,and just wont run right and eventually cleans it self out after about 1000 feet. I have not added anything to mine and is completely stock. So I wonder if mine is doing the same thing as the guy who started the post and mine is still stock. I would luv to buy a pvc for mine and probably leave it off or just enable it when I know I am in slow traffic. all I need is money, I took one hell of a gamble and bought mine in sept 08 ,traded mine and the wifes bike in in it. they closed the factory where I work and sent the jobs to mexico, how many cars are they gonna buy for the 4 bucks and hour they getting paid. hope I have a job at fridays interview. so far the canadian bike price has risen 4300 bucks and is still 10% behind the real exchange rate. I have read all the posts on pcv from jamie and really want to get one , for now I just keep reading and learning and hope I get a job soon.
i hear ya.. glad i bought my bike last year when US and CDN $$ was at par.
yp - same here, bike price increased 4500 for a SG.
still dont have a PCV , but will order.. all depends on work here.
There should not be any difference in this respect with your setup.
Sounds like we need to be pointing the finger at the MOCO rather than the aftermarket...again.
Jamie, thank you for your attention to this forum and this issue. Your advice and unbeatable service are a rare commodity in the world today and I for one really appreciate it.
Side note...once I installed the oil cooler, I have only had EITMS kick out the rear cylinder one time. Not to say it won't happen more when it gets really hot (the 1 time was in 80+ temps) but it will happen WAY less often. I highly suggest an oil cooler for a 96 and above. ALSO, I am running AFR's of 14.6 in the cuise range with the oil cooler installed...so if you run lower AFR's with a cooler installed you may be likely to never see EITMS kick in. JMHO

Subscribed.
I will call PC in the morning to inquire about this. If I get the same response I will be sure to get their name. I will also be sure to tell that person I WILL include them in my law suit if I get injured because I am unable to accelerate out of harms way when EITMS is functioning as designed.
This has the potential to cause serious harm, in-fact some preemptive letters from Attorneys may get their attention. I would think they could fix the problem easy enough if they really cared, guess we will see.
Also I thought Fuelmoto backed this product no questions asked???
Edited for spelling I suck at it.
