Default how do you bleed a hydraulic clutch

I need to reroute my clutch line and I am not sure how to bleed out the system. there is nothing in my 05 service manual about it and the hydraulic clutch was added by the previous owner. I do not think I will be losing a lot of fluid since all I am doing is disconnecting the line and rerunning it through the fairing but I would like to know how just in case I do need to. also what fluid do I use?

I had an 05 C90 that had hydraulic clutch on it. I never had to do a complete bleed job but when i changed it to DOT4 fluid it was the same as bleeding brakes. I used DOT 4 because it handles the heat better. I notice a improvement in the clutch. hope this helps.

If you able to separate the line at the top and cap off the hose before you re-route you might not loose much. When finished and tight, remove the resevoir cap and slowly squeeze the lever 2-3 times, the try squeezing half way in and letting off. Try this combination several times and watch for bubbles coming out. You might be able to "back bleed" this way otherwise you have do it the same as brakes and force the air down to the slave cylinder to bleed the whole system. Its probably got DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid, it's not recommended to mix them, auto's are DOT 3 and it has a distinct smell, don't know about DOT 4 compared. DOT 5 is a silicone base which totaly not compatable with the others.
