Default Fork Spring Compressor?

Do I really need a fork spring compressor? I'm chroming out my forks and decided to upgrade my front suspension at the same time which includes new springs for my '05 RK Custom...

If a fork spring compressor is useful...which one?

Thanks!

Just be carefull when taking them apart, you'll end up with a face full of fluid

No compressor needed. Just drain the fluid, then put it on a lift. There will be a little pressure on the fork cap when you take it off, but nothing big.

The whole for spring compressor thing is for fairing equiped bikes that have the cartridge in the left for leg. A Road King never got this cartridge.

I did mine in an engine lathe with a live center. Really easy and no problems. Something to think about if maybe you have a friend who's a machinist. Took about 2 minutes apiece.
