Default Lesson learn!

Pick up scooter today, had 95" cyl bore , commander III, remap fuel + ign, new woods chain drive cam. Sounds great and you can tell the difference in the torque and horse power. No sputting or poping, runs real nice!

I have the V H true duals, my tuner guy tested with them and then with a set of stock pipes with the slip ons mufflers.
With my new V H pipes the horse power is 78, and the torque 98.8 not bad.
But with the stock pipes with slip ons mufflers, the horse power was 87.7 and the torque 95.3.

Lesson learn don,t jump into buying pipes if they aren't going to help you when you do other modifications to your scooter. Find a good tuner and if you are ready $$$ to make some changes for the better consult him first.

Now if I want to have some head work done next to up the hp the V H pipe I have will not help me at all.
So make sure you keep your original pipes and you can add slip ons to them, and have something to compare it to when you dyno for performance.

Over all I am very please with my new upgrades, my dyno guy is the man! Just wish I talk to him before I brought my V H true duals.

Callie I could not agree more. I had my bike done (big bore, heads, cams, pistons) and wrench talked me out of true duals due to big difference in HP. We tried a used set of rhineharts on my bike and dynoed the bike. 89 hp and 97tg Put the SE mufflers and stock head pipe on and went to 101hp - 106tq. Not as clean looking as true duals but makes the horsepower.

Too bad the tuners didn't try a 2-1 system to compare all 3 types of exhaust. I've always heard the stock head pipes flow very well, and with a good set of slip-ons it is going to be hard to beat.

I objectively rode the local HD service manager's classic with 203's and slip ons. That exhaust just sucked and I could not wait to get back on my own bike. You guys can have your stock headers, all the EXTRA HP and the lesson learned. I still say you can do better with a properly tuned aftermarket exhaust, and a lot of others will agree!

Also it depends on what your look for. Since this is my first HOG I focused on the looks not the speed. But my next bike will be about speed and look and most definitely I'm going with the 2 in 1 RineHart or Thunder header.

I also went with the looks and was going for the sound, and it is my first HD too. Well that every ran!
I beleve the 2n1 will flow very good as well, but how would it look on a bagger?
The tune guy I use I feel very good about and I appreciate him taking the time out to compare the flow with putting another set of headers on my bike and seeing how they flow.
Don't think the HD dealers will even attempt to do that on their own to get your scooter to flow its best.

My work was done at VALLEY RACING in Beecher IL,

Its proven the 2 into 1 out performs anything else. Actually the wrench wanted to use 2 into 1 but I was not interested as I don't like the look on a bagger. Just my opinion though. Wrench told me 2 into 1 would net me even more hp and a better overall curve. I like it the way it is. Good power, good mileage. I might change my mind on the 10.5 to 1 compression next time. It is a bitch to remember to use the compressions releases and starters are expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
