Only $500 off? I'd walk away. Around here dealers are giving $1000-1500 off MSRP. When I bought my '08 which was in Dec. of 07 (before the economy took a major dump) I got $1000 off MSRP. On the other hand...they are waiving Freight/Set-up which does make it a bit more competitive. Still I'd grind a little more to the bone.
Oh...one more thing. The 2010 models will be announced in about 3 months. Usually happens immediately following the Summer Dealer Show which is in June every year. So if you absolutely must have a new bike, you might consider waiting to see what 2010 brings. Dealers usually make better deals on the outgoing model year bikes.
