I was excited with the changes made to the '07's after owning an '04 Road King. 96" motor, six speed tranny. Now, two years later, they redo the whole figgin' thing. I'm not going to try to keep up right now. I test rode the '09 Ultra and enjoyed it but I guess I don't ride hard enough to notice enough of a difference to have to have one. I like my '07 Ultra alot and have no desire at this time to have a different one. At least I got the six speed and 96" motor. I'm happy for all who got the '09's but in 2011 when I get my new Ultra with the 103" motor,7 speed super duper tranny, kitchen sink, and on board pooper, ya'all are gonna wish you had waited. He he he he he.

I was happy with the power and the 5 speed transmission of my 02 RKC. In fact, it seem happiest going 80mph, so I didn't need the 6 speed or 96 engine. I only moved to an 09 for the ABS and getting rid of the uneasy feeling of rain grooves. Half of my 30 mile drive to work is on rain grooves and it felt like riding on ice the whole time. Now I hear that it is the front tire that fix the rain groove problem, not the frame.
The owner of that my 02 RKC called the other day to ask a question that had nothing to do with the bike. When I asked how he was enjoying the Road King, he said that he and his wife were riding it like crazy and having a ball on it.

I miss that bike.

I know what you mean. My '09 FLHR handles better, brakes better and rides better but I still miss the simplicity of my '00 FXST. Didn't need to dump a bunch of money into it just to erase the EPA-inflicted heat problems. And could change the fueling for the price of a jet, what a bargain....
