anyone ever heard of these going bad? How do you test it other then noticing it doesnt work anymore?
Sarg, I haven't heard if the module going bad but did have a set resume switch go bad...Also have heard of the throttle roll off switch screwing up !! You can test the throttle roll off switch by unplugging it it is located on the right side of the frame by the front of the gas tank this is setting on the bike... 2 wires there in front of the tank unplug them and ride it if it is it it will work ok with it unpluged.... But mine was the handle bar switch....Jer

Depending on the bike there are up to 8 ways to cancel the "on" status for the cruise. You really need a manual to diagnose it. There is a series of test that you got through sequentially that should identify the component that is causing the problem.
I spent over 30 hours working on mine last winter. All the switches worked, all the wires had continuity but I could not pass the test. When I took the bike for a ride in the spring. It worked. I got extremely lucky a few days ago and picked up a new "cruise control kit" in the box for my bike. The best part is HD made the parts for mine obsolete a few years back so I would have been hosed if I couldn't find it at a swap meet or craigslist ;-)
Good luck with yours, I hope you have better success than I did.
