I will put a solo seat on my 09 SG. I know I would like to have a tour pak, when travelling long distances, but unfortunateley there will be few of them. My question is has anyone mounted a plano atv box etc. or any other cheap box on a solo rack? I do not care for the looks since I will ride 99 percent of the time with just the solo seat.
Well, if you really don't care what it will look like, go ahead. It's your bike.
But, the plano box is almost 40" wide. That's considerably wider than the bike, even with hard bags and guards. That's going to do wierd things to the balance of the bike, especially if you load it up) and you'll definitely have to watch that overhang.
If you're not going to do many long trips, I'd suggest you just save up for a detachable tour pak. maybe you can find a good used one on E-Bay or Craigslist.
Similar in construction to the HD Road King TP's; comes with lock/key/backrest. Mine is mounted on HD solo detachable rack. I also have an HD King TP and the Mutazu holds about 80-85% of the King TP.
yeah thats what i would go with is the milk crate, might even find one to match your bike color, couple of Canadian tire bunges, hell man your good to go
I am guessing you need to get their base plate with it to mount it on the HD detachable
rack. Is there anything else that is needed to mount it ? I already have the quick release
setup on my 06 SG.I am going to order one.
Thanks !
