This glass is very strong. I've dropped it on concrete and run over it with my truck with out breakage. Only had one customer break one. He laid his Dyna down on the left side, no floor board protection. The bike rolled across the glass on the derby cover. The glass remained in tact but cracked at the point of impact on the bottom. We made him a new one at our cost.

Hey Gabe,
There is a small problem with the 09 Ultra console insert in glass. There is a hinged cap on the audio jack at the front of the insert. Not enough room under the hinge for the thickness of the glass. I am wondering if we can loosen the lock ring inside of the cap and rotate the cap 90 degrees so the hinge is out if the way?

I would be very interested if something was available for an 08 RKC.Really would like to dress up the console as i indicated when i started this thread.Be interested to see the available options.As in my bike besides the gold mustard color the black is not really black when the sun hits it,its more of a dark hunter green with burgundy metal flake. Very noticable when the sun hits.

 

Here's what I did on my '05 (different console, but it'll give an idea)...



Engine-turned inner insert with laced leather outer insert (outsert?).

Wow!! Those Iron Glass inserts are nice! I would really lie to get rid of my old piece of leather and put one on my RK!!

i do not use the jack at all we can lose it all together how is that ???????????

That solves the problem Gabe. In that case you can use the same insert as the FLHTC. It'll be better looking too.
