I am interested in purchasing the new air wing rack and LED light kit. I have a king tour pak without lights and am wondering where the light harness plugs into or do I have to do some splicing.
I have this rack & light on order. On my EGC I was hoping the light would hook into
the extra plug I have in the tourpack.I figured this was the plug that would be used
if I had lights on the tourpack like an ultra.Am I wrong?
Can't help with this particular issue, but I've always been able to ask the parts counter help at the HD store to print out the installation instructions for HD accessories to allow me to see what's involved with their installation.
PM Dawg; he's great with these kinds of questions.
The instructions state on classic models without lights to install to the accessory outlet under the seat. The kit includes a 3 pin receptacle housing for this and the instructions show you which cavity to put the pins in. It also includes a grommet and instructs you to drill a hole in the bottom of the tour pak to route the wires.
I had my installed at the dealer before taking delivery. Here is where my was plugged when I took it apart to replace tour pak.
There is a plug at the main harness at the base of the tank and a small 3 wire harness that the air wing plugged into (picture 2). I don't know if this helps you, but this is how my was done.
