Thew HD unit is a cruise control...the others are throttle locks. Throttle locks work OK....to a point. They will keep the throttle open, but a grade (up or down) and any unevenness on the road results is a speed up/slow down that really isn't ideal.
Ya getz what ya pays for....HD has a throttle lock set up for any HD.
That's real cruise control. The other links looked more like just holding the throttle in place where you activated it. My Ultra's cruise turns the throttle grip when it needs to increase or decrease speed.
I had that kind of cruise control on my old bike (Throttle Lock) and to me it's not to be had. If your going down perfectly flat Interstate road or something its ok but never like the idea behind the throttle being locked down. HD cruise control, or any real cruise control is the way to go.
Just installed this on my buddies Honda ACE this past weekend. His bike has no throttle lock from the factory.
Overall it is a simple and effective throttle lock, but it is kind of bulky looking. Flipping the lever down to engage it is easy, flipping it back up takes a try or 2 till you have it feel comfortable.
I just set the factory Throttle lock on my Glide to drag all the time. It's not cruise control, but it works great for getting my hand free long enough to get rid of any tingling, etc. Looks a hell of a lot better than that thing too.
