Default Push Button Fuel Door Release

I need.. I took the Push Button Fuel Door Release off my 06 Roadglide when I traded it in. I was planning on using it on my 09 but they changed the spring that pops the door open. Has anybody got one left over that they want to get rid of? I hate to shell out $27 for a new one and the dealer says the spring by itself is $21.
Thanks

Ace hardware has hundreds of coil springs. Good bet they have what you need, for about 2 dollars.

How did you attach the spring, did you glue it? Does he sell them?
Thanks

A screw with a washer placed through the bottom coil of the spring. Drill a small hole and use a self tapping screw. He doesn't sell them, just get a small but sturdy spring from a hardware store.

I just turned the original lock around so it doesn't lock at all. Push on the back of the gas door and wala, it opens right up.

Unfortunatly, ANYONE with a barrel key of any kind, can open your fuel door.
