Default Electra Glide question

My brother has a 2005 Electra Glide policeman's addition and he is always complaining about his shoulders hurting after a ride. I had a similiar problem but went away after I switched my stock handle bar on my RKC to the Heritage bars.

Can the Electra Glide handle bar be switched? Has anyone here switched theirs? Does anyone have the problem with the shoulders hurting and what did they do to about it.

I keep telling him to take the skirt off and put on a pair of pants

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Ultra was terrible on my back & my shoulders until I replaced the stock bars with the extended reach bars from HD. I didn't last 500 miles before doing this. I believe they pull back approx. 2 inches. Now it is a dream to ride & no problem whatsoever. The riders backrest makes it total heaven. Like sitting on your lazy boy.

HARLEY MAKES A PULL-BACK BAR FOR THE ELECTRA GLIDE THAT SHOULD WORK WELL.

Mine bothered me until I changed the position on them. They were too high. Took the down about 1 1/2" and they are okay now. Not as good as pullbacks, but better.

Try this to get the perfect fit.

Hold the bike for him while he sits on it in his normal riding position. Have him put his hands in his lap and close his eyes for 30 seconds to a minute. With his eyes still closed he reaches for the bars. Wherever his hands go will give his natural hand position. Adjust the bars to that position, or get replacement bars that will get him there. This should end all of the shoulder pain problems.

Regards,

Bill

I just finished installing the Wild One 575 bars on mine yesterday, and they have a much more comfortable hand location than the stock bars. I haven't had the opportunity to take a long ride on it yet. I had a lot of aching in between my shoulder blades when I first got the bike, that was cured with a riders backrest.

Do you have a photo of your extended reach bars on your Ultra? If so I'd love to see what they look like. Thanks!
