Anyone have instructions to assemble the tour pack lock assembly onto the tour pack? (The lock that holds the lid locked to the base tour pack.)
No instructions here and this thing is making me feel like a 7 year old again. After 20-30 mintes of trying different ways, I am looking for the written word. Anyone?
I am uploading the pics now but it looks the same. I didn't have my key on me to lock it to see how much gap there is. I will do that in a bit after I post the pics.
I forgot all about the service manual (which Stuart kindly reminded me about) and sure enough, the instructions are right in there.
I also found the problem. I was putting the large washer under the large nut inside when the washer was supposed to go on the lock assembly before dropping it through the hole in the cover. I didn't think that would make much of any difference but sure enough, it locks nicely now (tight). The Service Manual is worth it's weight in harley parts (and that ain't cheap!)
One less thing I gotta pay the dealer for although I will be paying him to wire this thing from the tour pack to the wiring harness of the bike.
