radar detector
Yep, they pick up radio frequencies from the radar emitter. Tinted plastic is no problem, but be sure you have a loud enuff alarm or earpiece. I drive with a Valentine 1, a fantastic detector but you need to jump on the brake as soon as it alarms.

What you really need to think about is what kind of frequencies are my Keystone Kops using? If it's X, XA, or K (wow grandad!) or Ka, you're going to get only slight loss through lucite, really negligible. If your Blues are running LiDar, you needn't bother and might as well leave your detector at home. You see, radar uses radio waves, notorious for scatter and very, very wide in width. LiDar is a light that travels at "the speed of light", and is no bigger than about 24" at use, which means a motorcycle can be picked out of rush hour traffic, and as the cop told me, "As you see me I see you". There ain't no scatter, and there ain't no wide width. Stick a fork in you, you're done!
