Wind Buffeting
I ride a Heritage now and am looking to buy a new streetglide but I read a lot of reviews that speak negatively about how the batwing fairing creates wind buffeting at highway speeds. A lot of bikers with this fairing can't be wrong, could they? Looking for some pros & cons before making a a finale choice.

yes, it does. But its nothing that is out of control IMO. I put a taller windsheild on mine and plan to do the lowers this summer. I don't think its something that would not make me buy one again. the SG is one sweet bike.

I had a 08 SG last year and the stock wind shield did nothing for buffeting
So I switched to to a 8" and life was great at least for buffeting
I quit smoking but, last year I could smoke while traveling down the highway
and it's easy to switch them back and forth too

I wouldn't let it stop you from buying a touring bike. I would say the buffeting is no more and probably less that a bike with just a windshield. The fixes are about the same. Some sort of lowers and different windshields. I've had both types of bikes and haven't found a big difference, plus, there are a lot of plusses that make a touring bike better.

You do get a little wind but there seems to be a high number of whiners that evidently have never ridden ANY unfaired bike. Try it once and you'll know what "buffeting" really is and just how much wind the batwing stops.
