Hi Im new to hds.. but my 08 sg from day one has knocked a big deep knock 3 time down on the left side everytime the motor is truned off as it dies.. took it back to two dealships manytime. pri has been off and inter pri to has been took off and many new parts change out but it still knocks.milwaukee sent a guy down and he said he has never seen one do this.... so two dealerships and milwaukee say that some new bikes just knock .live with it...but they have order a part from screamin eagle to help quiten the sound. but under the warranty thats all they are going to do..so do i trade it back in .or get rid of it...or what..it is one year old has now and has 10;000 miles on it.. i love the bike....but not sure about the knock..just think for $20,000 it should not knock for two years or more...please help. thanks

 

I would bet it's the compensator that's knocking when you shut it down. Some are more prone to it than others. If the dealer is replacing that with the SE version, you won't be hearing that knock any more. If they didn't say, ask them what they are replacing.

 

Hi i calld the dealship to day and they said that they put on a new compensator on the bike 3 weeks ago. but still knocked.. but that there now ordered a new one friday .. a SE one ..sooooo what is the difference between them..thanks

 

Have they checked the flywheels?

 

Scissored crank????
