Default Idle

What's your idle rpm? and what's normal. Mine has a fast idle at start up then fluctuates from 900 to 1000 rpm when it warms up.
Question is. Is the flucuation normal and what is the correct idle speed, she seems to be real smooth at 1100 rpm. Thanks.

Mine had the same condition, but I think it had to do a lot with the Fuelpak I installed. I removed the Fuelpak and had the bike dyno tuned and the idle is now smooth and perfect.

If I'm not mistaken I believe that the idle should be between 1000 and 1050 after warm up. I think mine on start up runs about 1100 to 1200. Please correct me if I am wrong. Hope it helps.

I have the same rpm's at idle with my fuelpak...Between 900-1000 after it warms up.

The Fuelpak is supposed to do nothing to the idle according to V & H.

The bikes ECM handles that function but if you idle is steady now, there may be more to the story then V & H is telling us....

My 08 EGS is stock and seems to idle at 950 to 1050. The idle speed does seem to increase and decrease a little between those numbers. You have to listen for it though. Without paying close attention it sounds pretty smooth.

Your right, if your not looking at the tach, you may not even notice it....
