RG owner here. I agree 100%. I have never experienced the buffeting everyone screams on this forum about. Glad you brought this up if only to see who else out there has had no buffeting. Oh, and I'm 6'4"

Luckily I've never had it on the '05 EGC or this '09 RK but I understand what it is for those who've described it. Though I'm not sure why some experience it and some don't as most of our bikes have similar sized fairings or windscreens and therefore I'd think should feel the same or similar effect to some degree. Obviously it does vary as we can see. Maybe it's the prevailing wind DIRECTION/ANGLE and how it's hitting the bike and rider?

Here in the high desert mountains we get some hellacious winds at times and both the H-D's I've had did very well in the wind. Generally I'd just get pushed a bit by the blast of the wind but my helmet was rarely ever knocked around or buffeted excessively.

If you have to ask what wind buffeting is you don't have it. I've been riding all my life (well over 40 years in the saddle) and I've never experienced wind buffeting like on my Road King. I've tried wind wings, shields with recurve, different size shields...everything. It gets so bad it blurs my vision. The only thing that makes it tolerable is to wear a full face helmet. For some, a full face makes it worse, but that's what helps me. Maybe if I were a real man and had a bigger belly, less wind would get past it.

I stopped at the local shop yesterday and talked with he parts guys. The hear this a lot from normally sized guys and small "good look'in but useless" 4" shields. I'm gonna order a 8" or 10" today and they say it will take car of the issue.

I get the general i dea now. I'm 6-4 so on everybike I get wind on my face... I love it.

I did notice on the dyna about wind noise in my ears that could make you deaf but thought that was part of the whole MC experience and either wear an ipod (like i did) or ear plaugs.

This isn't really a complaint but have noticed that now that I have a RG, my goate doesnt face my chest anymore after riding.. it faces the windshield hahahaahahaa (swirl effect I guess)

sorry didn't see that thread or I would have chimed in on that one.. don't get much time on the forum anymore since countrywide/b of a required manditory overtime. This week alone i've been leaving my house at 8:30 am and not getting home till 10-11 pm and racked up 18.7 hours of overtime this week alone

.... i'm tired lol

and it's raining in phx today, I got the new slipons on the scoot and can't ride so i'll get a little extra forum time today as well as head to the studio and finish my guitar tracks tonight!

Thanks for the help guys!

Seriously, if you don't know what it is then don't worry about it. If you don't know what it is and you decide to make fun of people for it then you're an *******. Not you, Bucketass. It's the people that don't know what buffeting is so they figure it must be people complaining about wind. God forbid they actually admit to not knowing something and just trusting that it does exist for other people.
