I am trying to remove the wires from the turn signal connector, (2005 RK Custom) inside the headlight.
I ground down a tiny screwdriver... and it will go in all the way, into the connector end (opposite the wires) I tried applying sideways pressure at that point and pulling on the wires, they are still tight! am I doing this the right way?
any tricks or tips? thanks

There's a tang that you have to depress inside the connector. I used a safety pin and it worked well. Once you get one done and you see what you have to do, the rest are easy...Of course it may take you 10 minutes to get the first one out!!!!!
I've been trying, for almost an hour LoL
been using the smallest of the set of flat blade jewelers screwdrivers the tip goes in real easy, aprox 3/4 in. I can't really feel any tab I'm going in from the connector end and not the wire end right?
also, we are talking about the FEMALE connector right?

It's been awhile since I've done my turn signals(should be the same). Try going in from the wire side...Hopefully someone else will chime in here..
The pic. in the attachment, is the connector, it is the female side that goes to the bulbs.
should I be inserting the tool into the rounder opening at the top?
the lower, rectangle-ish areas are where the male pins make contact

Try going in from the wire side, I remember it was a bitch pushing the pin in and trying to pull the wire at the same time....You have to hit it just right but I guess you realized that after the last 3 hours!!!!
Push the wire into the connector and then insert what ever tool you are using into the other side to depress the tab in (away from the plastic connector) When you feel the tab move in pull the wire out. There are tools that fit in the connector and make it easier. Screwdriver will work just a little harder.
