Default 09 Jiffystand mods

I know that we have had threads on the freakie jiffystands on the 09s and how far over the bike leans. I am wondering if anyone has come up with a good modification to have the bike sit more upright? I just cannot get used to how far over the bike sits! Thanks! Maggie

Hey Maggie, not to worry, they've done that since at least 2000. Haven't heard of anything negative happening as a result. Not sure what your concern is.

Read about a service bullitin, might want to search the touring section or ask DAWG.

I had my bracket replaced this morning as well, and it also took about three weeks to get it in. It really does make a difference as to how far it leans.

Thanks to Dawg for posting the info.

Call HD customer service 414-343-4056 and they will give you a conformation number or as in my case, called my dealer and set it up that they replace the bracket with part # 50096-09. Brought it about 1.5" more upright.....very noticable....I think it took a couple weeks for the part to come in. This is of course all under waranty.

How much movement should be in the jiffy stand? Wife and I noticed our bike moves about 1-2" forward once engaged... Is this normal? Kind of creepy... WE have an 09 EG. Thanks Tom
