Default Clearview Question

Those with a smoke or grey Clearview windshield. Is the tint too dark to see through at night or in overcast/rainy weather? Trying to decide before I order.
Thanks, RR

Go onto their web site and it will tell you not to use the dark smoke to see through at night. I have a clear one and a dark smoke and its really dark. I also had a light smoke and it is fine at night. You will love their windshields.

BUT there will be times (depending upon the angle of the road and hills) when you are forced to look through it, some times for minutes at a time. Do you want to be doing that at night? Best to get one you can see through at night.

Guys, I'm getting ready to order a Clearview recurve as well. The HD 12" windshield cut down about an inch and a half is perfect for me.

What size recurve should I order?

I have a dark gray 9.5" Clearview with recurve. I'm 6'1" and look over the shield when riding. There are times when it's too dark even during the day and I need to look down (finding a spot to stop at to avoid manhole covers, painted stripes, when stopping in a gas station or pulling into a driveway). My next one will be smoked.

For me, the 9.5" is too low, even with recurve. The top of my stock 12.5" shield was right in my line of sight on the highway. Probably an 11" would be perfect. The 9.5" is OK in summer, but in chilly weather, I get too much wind.

I have the smoked 9 1/2 recurve and have had no problems seeing through it when necessary in the dark. I would want to look through it all the time but you can still see then you need to.

That's the kind of info I'm looking for. I will be ordering the height to look over but want to be able to see behind shield if needed. Clearview's site does not offer a light tint that I can find. Gonna shoot an email to them and get their take. Anyone else?

I bought the 8 inch with recurve, it's tinted.
I'm 5' 9" with stock seat, I look over it rather then thru it.
But because of the height I never really have to look thru it and the wind isn't a problem.

As you can see it's not that dark.
