On my Honda VTX I put the tender on it, the light goes from yellow to green in like 30 minutes. But I noticed on my FLHT it takes hours.
My question is does the battery drain more on the FLHT sitting ?
Is it because of the electronics, like the on board clock ?
Just a suggestion, you might want to make sure the alternator is charging the battery when you are riding. It takes 30 minutes or less on my ultra to go from red to green. I hope this helps. I also keep it plugged in when not riding.
I've noticed that when I plug mine in after a ride it stays red for a while. I never timed it, I usually just walk away and forget it, but it seems like it should go to green almost immediatly right after a ride. I'm curious too, what's the deal?
Same here, even when I have had all of my lights on, (headlight, spots, driving lights and all led's), it only takes 10 minutes or less for me to go green. If I ain't riding, she's on the plug.
not all the tender models work the same. and some charge up to like 90% and then trickle charge the remainder. not sure about current day batteries, but i had heard that charging a battery too fast isn't good for it.
so i am just wondering if this could be part of what is happening.
