Again, they are a great company to deal with but I'm wondering if there are other recommendations of where I can purchase Harley accessories at @ 20% off - not in PA that have decent shipping rates.

Thanks,

I have the same problem as you. I've tried Chicaho HD several times. Everything always seems to be back ordered. I'm trying Lakeshore.

Chicago is good if you are have patience. If not find a dealer that has the parts in stock.

Two of the items I ordered from Chicago HD last week had to be back ordered. Supposed to ship today.

Seems like the trend is to not keep a lot of inventory these days. I've never seen so many backordered items as I do now. I guess no one wants to be holding the bag when the music stops. With modern logistics, it's easier/safer for most dealers to keep inventory low and order your items from the distributor when your order comes in. Zanotti's is still my favorite -- once shipped, packages get here in a day and there's no sales tax since I'm out of PA. Shipping is steep for single items, but if you order a bunch it doesn't go up much.

Smile Local dealer support

I personal try to buy from my local dealer as much as possible.
Without our support we might lose them. I may pay a few dollars more at times but they have great specials each month. This month it's 20% off all rain gear. Last month it was leather goods. I like a bargain as much as the next guy but I also want to help keep my local dealer in business.

I agree with you to a point but take this example. I was pricing pull back bars, levers and a hardware kit from dealer and from Chicago HD. Even after the shipping, my savings was over $47.

If it had been $10-$15 dollars I would have bought through the dealer but at almost $50, it was a no brainer and I don't have to leave my house.

I have been saying all along, if one HD dealer can sell for 20% off day in and day out, they all can and they would all be pulling in more money because of it. We all know that the parts are marked up at least 40%+. That's still a 20% profit if sold at 20% off. Not bad in today's economy.

Stepping off the box now.......

+1 every time I go to the dealer its $$$ even for a couple cheap items, LoL I am always surptised at the total,
I have bought from Chicago HD, about six times and tried to combine items for shipping the only thing is ,not all parts are discounted 20%... only the ones marked "online price"

Everything I have ordered from Chicago HD was at least 20% off. I have probably ordered over $2000 worth of stuff in the last six months. Yes, you may have to wait a week or two but the savings make up for it.

Hales HD also has the same deals and good CS...along with a few others....It's all about saving money for me.....

When I first bought my 08 ultra I ordered $1500 of chrome from chicago, found that 1 backordered item held up whole shipment, then I made a mistake and put QTY 2 next to the SE air cleaner, now I have 2, could have shiped it back for 20% restock fee and $15 shipping on my end. Ok service but had to wait. I here this is commom with Chicago, If I had known about Lakeshore I would have gone with them.

I ordered $155 worth of misc items from Zanotti last night and shipping is $14.56 (almost 10%) but I here alot off good things about Zanotti having what you want and getting it quick.

Some of the stuff I ordered was 20% off, but not everthing, still good price and no tax
