I received my well packed box today and the speakers were in A-1 condition. Got home this evening, Popped a beer and went to work. 35 minutes later the two speakers were installed and the fairing and windshield were back on the bike.
Thanks PEZ! Great sound. The station I listen to was even kind enough to have on a new favorite tune playing for my listening enjoyment during my test.
The stock speakers in my 03 sounded sooooo bad the only thing I would listen to was the weather band.
I had to laugh as I threw the stock speakers in the trash - "Made in China" stamped on the itty bitty magnets.
The install could not have been easier. Perfect fit.
So I have a 100 bucks and a bit of change wrapped up in this project with the shipping. Received my discount for being a forum member to boot. Best 100 bucks I have spent in a long time.
Thanks again PEZ for personally answering my questions, for great service and most of all for a GREAT product.
They are the best C note you can spend for any bagger IMO. Tried Rockford & Infinity first, so my hog tunes cost me 3 large ones, but the others are going in my boat, so no biggie

So you like them even better than quality car stereo speaker huh?...I've got soundstream speakers in my fairing that do the job without distortion, but I read some posts from PEZ how he designed the speakers to reproduce the midrange better on his speakers...which is the most audible range on the motorcycle.
I've got some other stuff on the wish list for next winters mods (new suspension front and rear) but if I can swing it, I may just get a set of hogtunes yet.
I just installed my hogtunes last week. I ordered them as a present for myself. After installing one speaker I attempted a sound comparison. I wasn't impressed. I continued with the install and took it for a ride. The true quality of these speakers do not come on until your on the road. They sound great. On my Sunday ride, I had several bikes riding right behind me to hear my tunes. Great mod. Awell Spent C note.

An excellent point - It is almost as if these speakers were designed while they were riding down the road - The stereo separation is excellent and they seem to color the sound for the conditions they are in - I also think there is far less listener fatigue then with other designs - Radio sounds great, Cd's are much better and my direct hookup to satellite is amazing - A great bang for the buck
Couldn't agree more with this post. Hogtunes kick serious A$$. I went from stock HD to these and there is no comparison whatsoever. Superior performance in every aspect.
That IS what we did. Sometimes makes it hard cause the sound to me may be "questionable" when at a stop light or on the bench. Got out for a 300km ride yesterday, and even to me still--this is where the speakers really shine.
In my last job, I was involved as a world finals judge in determining the loudest car stereos in the world (www.dbdragracing.com) and yesterday, with my Ultrasound system at 75mph and over, found my self turning the system down.
Nice when stuff works.....Thanks always for for the kind words everyone.......PEZ
Count me in as jumping on the Hogtune wagon. I was swayed by all the positive things that were said about the speakers and the customer service. I ordered mine today and a few hours later I had an e-mail with a tracking number saying they have been sent out. With such a quick turnaround time from ordering to shipping that says alot about the company.
I am very interested in your Hogtunes speakers but to be honest, I'm mechanically challenged and I don't think I'm up to installing them myself. If I bought the speakers do you think my MoCo dealer would install them?

Adam, I think you're selling yourself a little short on this one. Taking the outer fairing shell off is a piece of cake. There are four torx screws inside the fairing and the three running along your windshields lower edge....tip the top outward, reach in to pull the plug off the headlight bulb and lift it away.
Once the fairing shell is off, you remove the four screws holding the speaker and unplug the terminal leads...plug the leads onto your new hogtunes and put back in with the screws you just removed. Repeat for other side and button up the fairing.
