Default Intercom question

Does the intercom on my Ultra work between bikes? My friend has an Ultra with a headset, and we ride together, but I couldn't find anything on this site that would indicate we could talk together thru the intercom. I know we could use the CB, but neither of us are CB literate.

Sorry....the intercom is just for driver to passenger. If you want to talk to your buddy then I guess it is time to learn how to use the CB. It is not hard to do.

CB isn't that hard to learn or setup. Just read owners manual & you should be able to figure it quick.

Intercom is for pas sager to passenger only you would have to use the CB to go bike to bike which is a great option if every one you are riding with or want to do bike to bike with had a CB. I am the only one with a CB in my group so I don't use the built in system at all I have switch to the Cardo Scala rider Q2 even for passager to passager so I dont need to have two mikes on my helmet.

Use th CB and talk in plain English, (most emergency agencies have even quit using codes). Avoid vulgar language.
Respect others by using an unpopular channel. Stay off of channels 9 (emergency) and 19 (truckers). There may be others.

Once you figure out the hand controls the cb is excellent for bike to bike. As said before pick a channel that is not used to much, fix the squlech to eliminate the chatter. If you are further than several car lengths re fix the squlech. I personally leave the cb on with squlech nearly closed that way if I'm bored I simply open the squlech to listen to the truckers. You would be amazed what these guys talk about.

All these guys are right . Just pick a quiet chanel and be free . stay away from 19, these are good radios and will bleed over in the next chanel. 10-4 ?

Thanks guys. A lot of good info. On our next ride, I'll give the CB a try.
