So far Ive been lucky with a regular auto oil filter wrench. I keep saying Im going to get the HD oil wrench but I keep putting in off

I use a small auto-style wrench, with no probs.

A strap wrench. Definitely a strap wrench. You can use it on just about any application of oil filter removal. Cars, trucks or motorcycles. It can come in handy for other things too!

The Hd filter wrench(with cut out) will also slip if the filter is put on too tight.

I use K&N oil filters which have a nut on the end of them. the first oil change I used an oil filter wrench like shown in a picture in this thread.

I use this one, I got orginally for my boat filters. It grips as it is twisted. You only need one size wrench. got it at autozone for less than $10.00.

I just use the old style band type made for the smaller filters. No problems here.

I have one of those too. I hate it. To much trouble. JMO.
