Cool Flhtc cruise control - easy to install?

2007 flhtc has a plug and play cruise control available from HD. Anyone ever purchase and install this module? Does it take long and what all is involved?

Piece o cake to install but you have to take the bike to the dealer so they can flash it so the ecu recognizes the cruise.......

Does anyone know if that kit comes with the rocker switch for the inner (lower) fairing? The catalog does not show it. If it's NOT included, how is the cruise armed?

The bike it's going on is an '07 so no need for the dealer to do anything with the ECM. Your '08 has the electronic throtltle and needs the dealer visit you mention.

As for plug and play, it's not how I'd describe removing and replacing the rightside handlebar switches and running a cable from the module to the throttle body. Not hard by any means, but not my idea of plug and play.

And, yes, the kit for an EG will include the rocker switch that's installed on the fairing cap.

Great accessory and an excellent DIY project. It's a good idea to buy a couple extra throttle/idle cable ferrules, and the little "C" clip that attaches the module's cable to the throttle.

Plenty of info on this if you try the "search" function.

Good luck with your project.

Got mine last sat. and installed it in 45 mins in the dealer parking lot and they hooked up the digital tech and told the ecm it had cruise for no charge and yes it comes with the switch on the faring and you replace the switches on the right handle bar comes with tie wraps and instructions on where to plug the wires in where the switches go, super easy just pull switch plate and the faring shell and route the wires where they won't rub and you are good to go. I have an '08 flhtc

Did my 07 over the winter months. It's not real bad just as long as you follow the directions. And like someone posted, that right side grip was a bugger to get off and back on. Make sure you have a service manual because it tells you how to "set-up" the cruise once you have it installed.

Have fun and good luck!
