Mine have a deep, throaty tone that sounds perfect to me. They are not too loud, but when you get a handful of throttle they really come to life.
They cooled the bike down tremendously by getting rid of the crossover pipe, and I love the "stereo" sound coming out the back.
I have had a LOT of people listen to them and comment on how great they sound. If you are not looking for glass shattering loud, but want something that sounds great with a deep, thumping tone you will not be disappointed. And like you said, not everyone and their brother have them on their bike either!
This sums up what I was going to say so I'm just going to second this.
Just wanted to add one other thing to the Bub 7 discussion.
I picked mine up from Custom Dynamics, they are a distributer of Bub, Reinhart, and Bassani. Here is the linke to the Bub 7 part of their website.
Buying from them save me quite a bit. They typically don't list their prices, but a quick email to them and they will reply right away.
I also picked up from them, the PCIII and a hypercharger. In the end, I bet I saved myself $300 by going through them with all three items.
I TOOK THE PLUNGE. delivery expected monday!!
custom dynamics does not have them anymore....Bub 7's are discontinued now, so I ordered them from Eastern Performance (good people by the way). can't wait!!
Why are they discontinued? Such a popular pipe, doesn't make sense.
I asked them at Eastern Performance and he said it may just be a new model number coming out. thats ok by me.......599.00 shipped!
beats the 800.00+ for rhineharts
