Is anyone using20W-50 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle Oil MCV from AMSOIL and what do you think? All the testing I can see is that AMSOIL is kicking but over everything else. They also claim to be able to run twice as long on milage or up to one year before you need to change the oil. Is this too good to be true if not this seems like the oil to be had.
I've used it, seemed like real good stuff to me. My mechanic has had me switch to SYN 3 when we changed out the cams, and I've used it twice now and it seems fine too. I still can't get myself to let it go past 2,500 miles though before I change it, so I'm not sure it matters all that much. Oil changes aren't that expensive in the grand scheme of things when you consider how important they are.
I do not use it. However, I have a friend that does. He changes the oil in his 2003 Ultra every 10k miles. Currently he has over 80k miles on it and has had no trouble out of the bike.
Cool...another Amsoil thread. Going to go get the popcorn
I use Redline. The Amsoil technical documentation floating around comes from Amsoil. The Redline docs were developed by independant testing. However, whether you pick Redline, Amsoil, or SYN3, it's better than regular old dino oil unless you want to change your oil frequently.
Seriously, SYN3 or Amsoil or Redline or Mobil 1 is going to work great in your bike.
