When you add slip ons do you need to do anything else to the bike? If so what? Another question is it better to just do slip ons or change the entire exhaust? Sorry if repeating questions of others but never really did anything to other bikes bought them with upgrades already complete.

On your '09 you could add slip-ons alone and get away with it. As for changing the entire exhaust, if you were to add something radically different from the stock exhaust like straight pipes, I'd be adding some fuel.

 

If you go with just slip ons you will be fine. The ECM will adjust enough for just that add on.

I have a friend who put on new full exhaust w/o the upgrade. His pipes turned a nice shade of golden/purple
Dealer actually didn't do it or suggest it so he was lucky and they replaced them for him.
