Thanks for the heads up on the heim joint ends. I used a double sided velcro strap I always carry in my tool kit to get me home. I will go pick those up today.

Plus one for the Heim joints. Rattle is gone and don't have to worry about the linkage anymore.

New shift linkage with heim joints is one of the first mods I put on my 08 and 02 Dyna. The stock setup is crap and WILL fail eventually.

Mine fell apart last fall, about 300 miles from home. I used duct tape cut to narrow strips to hold mine together.

I bought the stainless steel hemi joints through McMaster Carr, online. They are 5/16 24 make sure you get the female threads.
Picked up the stainless bolts washers and nuts at hardware store. Easy install. Had to rotate the heel toe shifters a little on the shaft due to the hemi joints being a little longer than the stock ball joint connectors. Works great, no slop in shift linkage. As I recall the whole package was around 30.00.
