longer fork tubes and shocks are going to severely screw your handling imo. Deff. not worth it. If you get down deep enough in a corner to scrape (for me it's kickstand left and floor board support right), then you're getting down on the tire too. It's not a sport bike tire and it's not built for the lean angle of a sport bike tire. I'd say go back to the sport bike scene if high speed and knee draggin' is what you're looking for.
The tyres on the 09 are a lot more like a sport bike. My bike suffers from extreme footboard wear, and the wear on my tyres stops about 15mm from the edge. I cant see her runnin out of tyre...
I read a piece by a magazine road tester who has ridden sports bikes for the last 25 years, for a summer he had a Street Glide. He said he did not want to do the usually jurno thing on a Harley which is to take it out for a day and bring it back with ruined floorboards so he changed his riding style. Result he found he was as fast over distances as he had been before and no marks on his floorboards. Personally I would look to adapt my riding style to the bike before I played around with the geometry of it. It could be, however, like someone said maybe at the moment it is not really your style of bike. Saying that if a bike can be raised I am sure someone on this forum will know how. Good luck.
