Now that's funny.

Personally, I don't think it has anything to do with a redesign, actually. The real cause was the popularity of the hinges and HD realized they were under-priced at $45. No doubt we'll get an -08A version of the hinge; HD will say they have been redesigned and they will be different; but, they will be $55 list price.

 

You're probably right.

 

I recently installed the hinges on both an "05 King and a chopped tourpak, neither of which the hinges are supposed to fit. It would require a minor change to make them fit many more tourpaks. I believe after the first ones are gone the redesigned hinges will be back.

 

Just installed a set (-08) last week. Had just been received at the dealer from Harley the same week. Where does it indicate they are discontinued?

 

I say ask the service tech at your dealer, they always tell the truth and are privy to all HD news

 

No problems with mine, the dealers around here still have them.
