I rode to Iowa last Friday and rode in some of the worse winds I believe I have ever rode in, came home Saturday morning and rode in about the same conditions. I got up this morning to clean the bike and noticed the center screw on my windshield and what look like the insert was sticking out of the front of the batwing. Now my question is, how do I fix this, I put it back in and it seemed to tighten, but didn't really tighten it to much. Am I going to have to take the batwing off and repair a big hole...

i use a extra washer. u should be ok,

 

It sounds like you may have the same problem that was just posted recently in this thread. May be worth your while to check it out. It covers the problem and the cure.

 

I came back from the ROT rally in Austin. When I checked my bike after the weekend ride I was missing two of the three screws. I called the Harley store and the screws were backordered. I stopped by the local Ace hardware who actually had knowledgeable employees that helped me find screws that worked. They were actually a whole lot cheaper than the HD and I have never had another missing screw.
