Well it took 30 years but i crossed over from the "other bikes"and now there is no looking back.I drove from Toronto Canada to NC to pick up my scoot a 1999 RK and it was well worth the trip.I do have my first question as i am not much of a wrench,my rear brake lite goes off and on when i go over a bump. There is play in the brake lever(worn out?)or what could it be.Steve
I would invest in the HD service manual for your RK. This will answer 99.998% of all your questions and save you $$'s or in your case Loonies.
This manual is invaluable even if you are'nt much of a wrench. It will also provide you with an opportunity to learn your bike and how to make small adjustments and repairs should they be needed while on the road.
Good luck, enjoy and ride safe.
Welcome to the family. You finally got smart. Like others have said, brake light switch or wiring and get the service manual. Well worth it. Ride safe.
Thanks for the nice welcome i can see it will be nice dropping in here from time to time.Back to my problem with the flickering brake light. It seems i have a lot of play in the brake lever and it contacts as if you were pulling in the lever to brake when i go over a bump.I think there should be more force to activate the light.I do not think its a loose wire. What makes contact with the lever to activate the switch to turn on the rear light.
