I don't know if they really "direct" it at your calf -- But maybe you finally *notice* the heat at your calf now that your ********* aren't on fire.
All I know is that (after my first good ride with those things) I think they're absolutely freaking fantastic. If not rather difficult to install (at least the top bolt on the right hand side - Holy geebus!). I wish HD would've taken an installation hint from the Captain...

We spent the past weekend in at the Cherokee Rally in NC.The air temp hit 93 degrees and of course we as vendors had our products there.A lot of folks once they were able to see our products first hand were very impressed about the quality and how well it kept the heat away from your crotch area.
They are very easy to install just lift your seat insert the seat tang into the slit in the leather and put your seat back on.The seat will hold everything in place and it will not move. Easy to install and works very well.
